Here at HLM, we work hard to bring every client the best results possible. One of the ways we're able to do that is by balancing that hard work with team-building, fostering a sense of comradery among our team members, and having some plain ol' fun. Learn how HLM's Culture Committee leads this effort, and what you can expect if you're a new or prospective HLMer.
HLM's Culture Committee is a group of six HLM Team Members (currently anyway, but they're always looking for more participants), across several different departments, who meet on a regular basis to plan fun and novel activities that encourage communication and connection between HLM departments, allowing team members to get to know each other - oftentimes despite being hundreds of miles apart.
Like many businesses pre-pandemic, it was much easier for team members to meet one another and develop natural rapport and organic friendships simply by showing up to work.
As HLM was impacted by the pandemic and shifted to a mostly remote environment, we realized that we needed to be much more proactive about offering opportunities for team members to meet, interact, and learn about each other.
So, out of the significantly negative and long-lasting event that was the pandemic, arose the HLM Culture Committee. It always pays to look for the silver linings in life.

While St. Patrick's Day is most certainly marked by mercilessly pinching those that have forgotten to wear their green attire, it's also marked by the annual HLM St. Patty's Day Virtual Happy Hour!
Below is just one example of an HLM Happy Hour lead by our Culture Committee that includes trivia, cocktail how-to's, and general merriment.
While HLM is a remote-first organization since the pandemic, we do have concentrations of team members in the areas of Birmingham, AL, Nashville TN, and Detroit, MI., so we'll occasionally coordinate in-person events for those that can attend.
Below are two examples of such events - a baseball game outing for our Detroit team members, and an outing to Top Golf in the Birmingham and Nashville area
Clearly the virtual murderer must have been HLM's Director of Content Marketing, in the library, with the candlestick - right? At least, that's what we determined during our last Virtual Halloween Celebration, where, among other things, our Culture Committee hosted a virtual game of Clue.
