At HLM, our people are at the heart of everything we do—and that includes supporting the full spectrum of well-being, not just performance. In honor of May’s Mental Health Awareness Month, we recently hosted a virtual Lunch & Learn session titled “Nourish Your Mind: A Lunch & Learn on Gratitude, Stoicism, and Perspective.”
Led by our in-house mindfulness guide, Danny Trifone, the session was a chance for our team to take a meaningful midday pause. Together, we explored the intersection of mental resilience and ancient wisdom, applying practices rooted in gratitude, Stoic philosophy, and mindful reflection.
The session wrapped with a calming guided meditation, helping our team return to the day feeling more centered and grounded.
We believe a thriving culture starts with human connection, and events like these reflect our commitment to creating space for personal growth, mindset shifts, and real-life tools that support mental health.
The second phase brought those insights into action through a practical mindfulness exercise. This experiential approach helped team members not just feel more grounded in the moment, but better equipped to carry that awareness into the rest of their day.
The team also received a curated list of recommended readings, podcasts, and even a 30-day pass to the Waking Up App, offering continued support for anyone wanting to dive deeper into Stoicism, gratitude, and mindfulness.
Mental health isn’t a one-time conversation at HLM—it’s part of how we show up for each other, every day. Events like this Lunch & Learn are more than calendar invites; they’re reflections of a culture that values empathy, self-awareness, and the power of pausing.
As we continue to grow, we remain committed to creating a workplace where taking care of your mental health isn’t just supported—it’s celebrated.
Because when we nourish the mind, we strengthen the team.
